Automate Paid Community Management with WhatsApp + Stripe

Payment, onboarding, group access, and cancellation — fully automated. See the whole flow in 3 minutes.

You run a paid community on WhatsApp. Someone pays, you add them to the group. Someone cancels, you remove them. Sounds simple — until you're doing it 20 times a week while also running your actual business.

CupBots automates the entire lifecycle: Stripe payment → welcome message → group access → subscription management → automatic removal on cancellation. Zero manual steps. Here's exactly how it works.

The Problem

Managing a paid WhatsApp community manually means:

  • Checking Stripe for new payments, then manually adding members
  • Sending welcome messages and group links by hand
  • Tracking who's paid and who hasn't
  • Removing people when they cancel — if you even notice
  • Handling failed payments, expired cards, and resubscriptions

At 10 members, it's manageable. At 50+, it's a second job. And every hour you spend on member management is an hour you're not spending on creating value for your community.

The Automated Flow

Here's what happens when someone clicks "Subscribe" on your landing page. Everything from this point is automated:

1. Payment

The subscriber clicks your CTA and lands on a Stripe checkout page. They enter their card details and hit subscribe. Stripe handles the payment and notifies your CupBots bot instantly.

2. Welcome Message

Within seconds, the new member gets a WhatsApp message from your bot:

The message is fully customizable — your brand, your copy, your tone. The "Join Group" button is a WhatsApp group invite link.

3. Group Access

When the member taps "Join Group," they send a join request. Your bot is watching. It cross-references the request against paid subscribers and auto-approves within seconds.

What about freeloaders? If someone who hasn't paid gets the link and tries to join, the bot rejects the request automatically. Only verified subscribers get in.

4. Subscription Management

Members can type /subscription in their DM with the bot to manage their plan — upgrade to annual, update payment method, or cancel. No portal to build, no support tickets to handle.

5. Automatic Removal on Cancellation

When a subscription ends — whether the member cancels, their card fails, or you cancel them from Stripe — the bot:

  1. Sends a goodbye message with a link to resubscribe
  2. Removes them from the private group
  3. Updates the subscriber record

By default, removal happens at the end of the billing period (they already paid for it). But you can configure immediate removal if your community model requires it.

What You Get

  • Stripe integration — subscriptions, one-time payments, webhooks
  • Auto group management — add on payment, remove on cancellation
  • Join request gating — only paid members get approved
  • Community overflow — when a group hits max capacity, new members go to the next group automatically
  • Privacy fallback — if direct-add fails (user privacy settings), the bot sends an invite link instead
  • Self-serve subscriptions — members manage their own plan via WhatsApp DM
  • Customizable messages — welcome, goodbye, and everything in between
  • Monthly + Annual plans — set up your pricing tiers in Stripe, the bot handles the rest

The Math

Say you charge $29/mo for your community and have 100 members. That's $2,900/mo in revenue.

Without automation, you're spending 5-10 hours a week on member management — adding people, removing churned users, answering "how do I cancel?" messages. That's time you should be spending on content and community value.

With CupBots handling the entire lifecycle, you get those hours back from day one. And as your community grows, the bot scales with you — no extra effort at 50 members or 500.

The communities that grow fastest are the ones where the founder spends zero time on admin and 100% on value.
